Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of PortfolioPatrol. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The Service
PortfolioPatrol is a portfolio-tracking and analytics tool: it stores the investment data you provide or connect, and computes metrics such as returns, income, tax estimates, and exposure to help you understand your own portfolio. The service evolves; features may be added, changed, or removed.
Decision Support, Not Advice
Decision support only — not investment, tax, or legal advice.
PortfolioPatrol is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, tax preparer, or law firm. Everything the service displays is a computation from your inputs and third-party market data — it is never a recommendation to take any action. You are solely responsible for your investment, tax, and legal decisions, and for confirming any figure with a qualified professional before acting on it.
No Custody, No Trade Execution
PortfolioPatrol does not hold, custody, or transfer assets, and it does not execute trades. Account connections are read-only. Nothing in the service can move your money.
Your Account
You may use PortfolioPatrol only if you are at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. Keep your email account secure — sign-in links and passkeys are tied to it, and activity under your account is your responsibility. Provide information that is accurate; the quality of every computed figure depends on it.
Your Data
You own the data you put into PortfolioPatrol. You grant us a limited license to store and process it solely to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account deletes your data.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the service for any unlawful purpose;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service, or circumvent its security or access controls;
- access another user's data, or attempt to;
- scrape, resell, or redistribute the service or its market data;
- interfere with the service's operation, including by automated bulk requests.
Market Data & Accuracy
Prices, index data, filings, and inflation series come from third-party sources and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Computed figures (returns, tax estimates, exposure) are estimates that depend on your inputs and those sources. We work to keep the math right, but we do not warrant that any figure is accurate, complete, or current.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PortfolioPatrol and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, investment losses, or tax liabilities arising from your use of the service or reliance on its outputs. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put the service or other users at risk. Sections that by their nature survive termination (including the disclaimers and liability limits) survive.
Changes to These Terms
If we change these terms, we will update them here and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
